The Challenge
Lifebio’s main goal was to obtain as much user-generated content as possible for their Social Media channels and Paid Advertising.
Initially, they partnered with an agency to find the right influencers for their brand, but the process ended up being too slow, as they would get a maximum of three to four collaborations done every single month. On top of this, the agency fees ended up being too expensive in contrast with the results they obtained.
"We did it via an agency and paid for each collaboration £100. Besides this being expensive for us, they also moved slowly because we only got like three or four collaborations each month.
We discovered Social Cat on Instagram, and the monthly fee was way more attractive. The ability to match with influencers already interested in us was greater."
The Solution
The founder discovered Social Cat through an Instagram ad and decided to try out our product and get matched with a few initial influencers.
What made Social Cat attractive was the pricing model designed for small brands and the large pool of creators, but the deciding factor was the ability to match with influencers that are already interested in her brand.
Eleven months later, Lifebio still works with Social Cat, and we are preparing the micro-influencer strategy for launching their second product.

"Social Cat has been brilliant for us. Previously it had been a real challenge to find creators to work with. Social Cat makes the process very easy and connects you with people who actually have an interest in your brand. We have built some great ongoing relationships with creators and with the guys at Social Cat who are always really helpful with any questions we have."

Comparison with other platforms
It's important to notice, Social Cat is the only platform that helps brand find micro influencers that are happy to work on gifted collaborations. All other platforms are focused on paid influencers.
In comparison, if Lifebio decided to partner up with paid micro-influencers (5k - 50k), the minimum influencer fee for one single campaign would be $100 (according to Influencer Marketing Hub). To this, we add the costs of the products plus the platform used to discover the mid-tier influencers and the price for content usage rights. The minimum charge for content usage rights when working with micro-influencers is a minimum of $50.
Social Cat is by far the most affordable platforms on the market. Most other platforms use obscure pricing and it usually starts at a minimum of $300 per month. The cheapest plan at Social Cat is $49. Here's the pricing for some of the other platforms out there (for working with 124 influencers):
- Tribe Group - $3629/mo (pay-per-use, basic plan)
- Modash - $654/mo (the essentials plan, basic plan)
- creator.co - $395/mo (self-serve, basic plan)
Let's break down the pricing if Lifebio were to use one of the other platforms and use paid micro influencers.
- Platform fees = 11 months * minimum $395 = minimum $4,345
- Influencer fees = $100 per influencer * 124 influencers = $12,400
- COGS = $1,199
- Content license rights = $50 per content * 124 influencers = $6,200
- Total cost = $24,144
By working with gifted influencers from Social Cat instead of paid micro-influencers on other platforms, Lifebio saved more than $21,875 over the course of 11 months.
Comparison with influencer marketing agencies
We gathered data from 50 brands on Social Cat and their previous experiences with influencer marketing agencies. We discovered that the minimum fee to work with agencies is billed at $1500 per month for outsourcing about 20 micro-influencers and running campaigns with them. On top of these costs, we need to add the influencer fees and the fees for content usage rights.
Let's break down the pricing if Lifebio were to use an influencer agency.
- Agency fees = assume 6 months * $1,500 = $9,000
- Influencer fees = $100 per influencer * 124 influencers = $12,400
- COGS = $1,199
- Content license rights = $50 per content * 124 influencers = $6,200
- Total cost = $28,799
By working with gifted influencers from Social Cat instead of hiring an influencer agency, Lifebio saved more than $26,530 over the course of 11 months.
