I am a PhD student studying Archaeology at UCLA. Boston-born and raised, I moved out here all alone with no family or friends. It has been quite the adventure navigating this new city all on my own, building my own community by doing what I love!
What Liz sent us was not up to par with our standards. We cannot use what she sent us. We were clear that we wanted to be able to re-use what she sent us on our social media and ads. The video doesn't show any of our products and the photo features text and a different brand in a parking lot. Both were posted as stories instead of on her feed. The beanie we sent her was never even mentioned in any of the content. We gave her a chance to re-do the photo and video but got no response. We were looking for polished and professional content and this was not it.
Women’s Haven is a multi-country, multi-class registered trademark brand with strict branding requirements. This was our very first collaboration on Social Cat, and while we are grateful for the opportunity to work with Liz, the experience unfortunately fell short of our expectations.
A key issue was that the correct page was not confirmed before posting, resulting in an incorrect tag. This error remained public for several hours. Although we responded within three minutes of being informed, the correction was delayed due to a time zone issue, as explained by Liz. This prolonged exposure caused significant brand damage, as users engaged with the incorrect tag.
Moreover, our brand was bundled with another unrelated brand in the post, which was disappointing as we anticipated a dedicated post for our product. The video merely displayed our product alongside the other brand’s, with no voice-over, interaction, or explanation—leaving us with content that we cannot repurpose for marketing.
For future collaborations, we recommend double-checking all details, particularly tags, before posting. Accurate representation is critical to maintaining professional standards, and we hope that future partnerships will demonstrate this attention to detail.
